Nope. The whole "salary for life" thing is a myth that's been around since before the 1980s. They're on the same retirement system as most feds - in the old days it was CSRS - which is where the whole "not paying into Social Security" thing came from (large pension that they paid $Texas into, instead of SS - nowadays

Even Congresscritters don't get that. They get the same damn insurance any federal employee gets, and are on the same retirement system (TSP - think a 401K with a tiny pension) as well.

A decent French Press is less than $30, and will last for as long as you can keep from breaking the carafe.

I was raised by academics, and was almost an academic myself before sanity pulled me back from the ledge when I finished my Ph.D., and I'm pretty sure that for a gang of supposed liberals, nobody is more conservative in practice than professors. NOTHING can break through some of the institutional barriers. My advisers

I know I posted a mocking picture earlier, but you may find Geisler's book, Analyzing Streams of Language (Longman, 2003)to be helpful. I remember using it for a course in graduate school for a similar project on tech nerd web comments.

As someone in a relatively similar situation, I have to agree. My burner IS my account.

I agree wholeheartedly - report button instead of banning gifs from certain IPs or blocking burners from posting them. I used this burner for so long that it's become my actual account. I'd be pretty damn bitter if I had to start over with a new, real account so that I could post the occasional .gif file.

Not to mention the fact that some hardcore trolls — especially those of the 4chan ilk — use TOR, which makes IP tracking useless anyway.

"Pardon my splashing. Go about your business and HIT THAT PROPER."

Your tl;dr is, itself, too long by one word, Mr. Literary Critic ("eats your face" would be proper). I did, however, love the "scrolling through comment threads while nestled deep within their own assholes" bit. That was golden. +1 for you.

She did have it notarized, at least according to the article above.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHH, FOREPLAY!

I misread what you posted. NVM

Does her recanting and having it notarized make a bit of difference?

Also dirty greeting cards.

Sheeeeit, back when I was a kid, and malls actually mattered, all anyone ever went to Spencer's for was dumbass t-shirts and Manic Panic.

That and goddamn bacon. I enjoy it, too, but the internet needs to let that shit go.

There's a small puddle of drool forming on my desk right now.

I only ever saw tourists there. Well, tourists and office-managers buying a boatload of the minis.
