I can’t figure out why the reviewer is so insistent that this series must have a 10-words-or-less sentence which fully—and to the exclusion of anything else—describes what the show is about.

No, he didn’t. As actors go, this one is a lightweight. He’s not completely awful, but he’s never really been good.

Wow. I seriously don’t know what show you were watching. Because the show I watched was beautifully acted, breathtakingly gorgeously shot, had memorable characters and held my interest from beginning to end. And I don’t even really like westerns.
