I had this exact problem just a couple days ago and for me it was a QoS setting on the router that solved it. D-Link router and Netgear AP did not tolerate each other. Anytime I needed to configure and reboot the router, the AP speeds would drop. Enabling then disabling QoS strangely solved the problem every time.

I don’t think you get it. You put the water, oil, and frozen dumplings all in a pan at the same time - BEFORE you turn on the stove. You’re not adding cold water or frozen dumplings to hot oil. This way is safer - there’s no splatter. My 9 year old daughter cooks them like this all the time so you should be ok.

You do put water and oil in at the same time. Try it - you will be pleasantly surprised how easy this is.
