Sadly, it's morons and freakshows like them who will provide the bulk of the future populace. I'm surprised noone has mentioned "Idiocracy" yet.

The same thought ocurred to me when I lived in London about 15 years ago. They're like pandas at the zoo- as long as they do something every once in a while and reproduce regularly, they bring in the tourist dollars.
Cletus or Thurston if it's a boy; Brandine or Lovey if it's a girl.
It's not the skinny, per se- it's the "Paul Ryan" skinny, the self-absorbed, social climber skinny. It worked for her, and almost did for Ryan (and before anyone gets on me for partisan politics, creepshow congressman Anthony Wiener fits in this group, too, and he landed an intelligent, beautiful wife and if he could…
Hubba hubba.
I'm glad Christopher Tolkien has edited and published things like "The Silmarillion"and "The Children of Hurin." In terms of heirs handling a father's works, I can't fault them too much, and I don't think it's been greed that has been at the heart of it. Now Frank Herbert and "Dune," that's an abomination.
Actually, the Tolkien Estate hasn't been the one squeezing as much profit as possible- it's been Saul Zaentz, who picked up "the Lord of the Rings" and "Hobbit" movies rights from United Artists in the 1970s. I think Christopher Tolkien fears that his father's books are going to become submerged in a sea of film…
I interpreted duology as "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy plus "The Hobbit" trilogy.
You belabor the point; dragons and phoenixes (phoenices?) are real, too.
Gack! Please not. "The Hobbit" and "Star Trek" haven't even come out yet, and I'm sick of this guy.
It's interesting how some cultures accept male homosexuality but either reject or fail to even recognize lesbianism, or vice versa. We're a strange lot, humans.
I read something from within the last year bolstering that theory. One of the Pacific Island societies recognizes a 'third gender,' basically gay men (but not lesbians). The nieces and nephews of these men, who were investing in the kids' lives, tended to do better, especially in education and educational…
I wouldn't think so, because this is a more instinctive than intellectual reaction.
I was in an 8 person row boat with a little put-put outboard motor about a half mile from shore off of Baja California, whale watching, when a gray whale swam under the boat, just a couple of feet under the surface. It was like the boat when up a hill and back down. Scared the shit out of all of us, while at the…
I can't watch a movie starring Tom Cruise without it being "That Whack Job Scientologist Running Around 'Emoting.'" When Del Toro's "Mountains of Madness" was doing some preproduction development, Del Toro was meeting often with Tom Cruise and it looked like Cruise was going to star in it. For me, it would have made…
I've said it before and I'll say it again: No "Mountains of Madness" from Del Toro is better than one starring Tom Cruise.
No kidding. I didn't have a headache 3 minutes ago. Ugh.
Are there nerds in that photo? I see a couple of hipsters....
You make a good point.
If Michonne was a litigating attorney before the zombie apocalypse, that would be in character- only play your cards when you need to.
