IIRC Ford did that with the V8 SHO cams, with disastrous results.

Size creep. It’s more than just boomer’s pants and women’s dress sizes that are getting bigger - my ‘13 Fit has a footprint equal to my old ‘93 Civic Si. Modern Civics have gone up a full class in size.

Here’s your history: VW didn’t build any civilian cars before WWII - also, it wasn’t VW then. The VW nameplate didn’t happen until after WWII, when the British controlled the company.

People didn’t buy the previous Bonnie for performance numbers, they bought them because they were reliable, good looking, authentic retro British standards that were reasonably priced and easy to ride and own, and looked cool.

If they are, then this bike will have a much wider selection of better replacement tires at a lower cost than the old Bonnie.

Great car. Look over the crimped oil cooler lines/trans cooler lines for leaks at the crimps; you’ll want to replace them before they fail completely. Be patient with the penetrating oil well beforehand if the lines go into the radiator side tanks.

Camrys are 100% effective against STDs and pregnancy!

Excellent. And realistic!

Exactly.

If the truck has a fire while parked, the employee isn’t “coming or going”, which involves, you know, movement.

There’s no landlord/tenant “contractual bond” because there is no rental agreement, lease or other contract for that parking space between the employee and Google. He’s not renting the parking space any more than he is renting a parking space at the supermarket when he’s buying beer.

It’s not workman’s comp because they aren’t paying him to be in that truck as part of his job. His regular health insurance will cover him if he is injured, like any other injury and his car insurance might or might not cover the damage to the car. I very much doubt if he would have any legit claim against his

Yup. The closest one I’m aware of is in Hayward, on the other side of the bay and the San Mateo bridge, and it isn’t exactly in a nice neighborhood - cramped and small, next to the highway, and filled with some tired, sad old trailers.

The Google campus is large and a bunch of it is essentially walled off and not visible to passerby. I’m guessing the city doesn’t know or care since google pays them tons in taxes and it’s just one guy (that they know of, thanks to this article). If it was 20 of them in one place for a long time things might go

Good write up. I prefer my dodge turbodiesel crew cab pickup pulling a 22’ spring over axle travel trailer. Together they would cost you about $25k right now if you bought them both used, picking only the nicest California- sourced low mileage, one owner units you could find in perfect shape.

California has led the world (and particularly Europe, which lagged appallingly in that department until recently) in emissions regulations for decades, mr smug euro guy.

Seriously. Which specific DOHC V8 engines are coming in for comparison here? I'd love to know.

Using the driver seat sensor as “unoccupied” for a cheat code won't work, because dyno testing requires someone sitting in the driver's seat to hit the gas at the right time to keep the car on the test path.

Sorry, I misread “requirement” as “equipment”.

Mine *was* a cheap, shitty rental. And it failed at being even fun to beat like a rented mule. That's saying a lot.
