Actually, I would love it if my phone had an FM and AM receiver. It's not always practical to rely on an internet connection to receive audio programming.

Unless I am mistaken, the splitting up of large files into RAR file archives is related to their distribution on Usenets. I don't remember the exact reason, but there is a specific file-size requirement which necessitates breaking down an archive into files of some required maximum size.
