Depends if you're a spandex boy or an urban commuter. Those high tech solutions will never cut it for serious all weather riders. Just get some Phil's and wipe the chain regularly. It will adhere in all conditions. Of course it will attract grime, but so will any lubricant worth putting on. That's why you have to wipe

Their serves are timing out for preorders. Looks like an awesome upgrade. The only drag is the whole emphasis on the post pc world which will take a lot of the best technology minds away from moving forward on better operating systems and better computers. Mobile devices are so much more profitable in the short run,

Apple holds classes for users like you. They're free.

I was going to add a link to a little post on the best way to do synching, version control with and without the cloud using Dropbox, Sugarsync and Synkron. Check it out [philosopherdotdog.blogspot.com] .

Symlinks will eventually choke and cause DB to run your cpu to hell. There are better solutions. DB is best if you just stick with dumping your projects into the DB folder. Mucking around with symlinks will come to a bad end once you start changing files around a lot.

Windows 8 is bloody ugly. Like razz matazz, shinny white shoes, old lady is a too short skirt ugly. I know it's hard to please everyone, but it's so bloody Protestant, middle class, Christian, uptight, trying too hard ugly. But MS was never known for style. Look at that Word splash screen if you what to understand the

As an Apple developer you are free to do as you wish too. So this is pretty much a myth widely spread on the likes of Linux forums. Of course if you want to sell on their store that's another matter, and some changes are coming, but the details are murky. Mostly they're trying to limit exposure to malware on users

Well not quite. What you do with your body all day becomes your posture. It's very difficult to control without some serious attention and good habits.

I still find windows search mostly terrible. I'd like it to highlight strings within files and allow me to jump to occurrences. One thing I've found that's incredibly helpful if you want to preview more file types is this little utility [www.winhelponline.com] . This way you can preview many text files that have

I'm getting great battery life. Full out with everything running a screen up I'm getting minimum 5 hours and often 6+. That's under Windows. I think you can expect slightly better battery life in os x. The new air gets great battery life. The best I've seen to date from Apple. The ssd really helps.

The only thing is it's a relatively small drive compared to 700 gbs or whatever. But you have to just run cloud storage other other solutions if you want the speed of ssd. I'm throwing everything at this machine and with 4 gbs of ram it hasn't been a problem. I have creative suite open a lot of the time, and visual

Wait a few months for the 15 inch. It's a much faster machine. I had an 17 pro and the 13 inch air is much faster because of the solid state drive. It's just a better machine. Easier to type on because it's so thing. Light, better screen, better battery, completely silent. The pro is a tank in comparison.

I've switched to an Air from a pro, and because of the work I'm doing I have to use windows 7. I must say win7 totally screens on this machine. It installed in 20 minutes. The Air is a bargain for what you get. I'm getting like 6 hours on battery, and it has never crashed. Personally I'd rather run os x, but the rest

pckeyboardhack is one way to do it. You can remap one of the control keys to command. Pretty simple. [philosopherdotdog.blogspot.com] . OS X is brilliant, but it does feel weird if you're not used to it. Apple has some strange ways of doing things. For instance, dragging from finding to move you have to hit the

Actually Apple uses ePub. Not sure about iBooks 2 but I'm pretty sure it's ePub 3. You should do a little investigation before posting. Apple has a much bigger commitment to open source than M$, for instance. OS X is using an open source kernel, their browser is built on the open source web kit engine, and there is in

Hopefully they will come up with some new material. Their javascript course starts out well, but then fizzles.

I hate the person who puts there stuff down and then keeps shopping and then jumps in front just as you're about to pay. The rule is, if you still have shopping to do, then you're not in line to pay. Got it?!

Not just a chrome extension. It's also a bookmarklet that you should be able to use in any browser! Sweet.

Cool. I can't wait for the Windoz port. Stuck using it and skitch would be a welcome addition. Although comparing Evernote Windoz vs OS X I image Skitch will not be the same piece of awesomeness when finally ported. I guess we'll see what happens.
