It’s not only an age thing, though. I know septuagenarians who are ultra liberal and vocally protesting Trump. Meanwhile I know twentysomethings who think Trump is great.

This.

Banning a player from the combine, while permitting him to be drafted, is stupid and counterproductive to everyone. It makes it more difficult for a team to evaluate the player and decide whether to trust him to stay out of trouble in the future. Either ban the guy or allow him to be drafted.

That was the craziest thing I’ve seen at the Oscars since Phil Donahue throwing up I. A tuba.

If driving for Uber is so great, how come the company spends money advertising for drivers? There are plenty of people stuck in minimum wage jobs for whom driving for Uber should be attractive even if the takehome after gas/maintenance/depreciation is only a little better. And Uber claims you’ll make way more than

60% of the major pro sports teams in Chicago are total dumpster fires. Can somebody just take Jerry Reinsdorf and the entire McCaskey family and fire them into outer space so there’s at least a prayer of the White Sox/Bears/Bulls being good again?

How dumb do you have to be to have earned nine figures in your career and get caught up in a Ponzi scheme? When you’re starting with wealth that puts you in the top 0.001%, you don’t need to chase ridiculous gains. Put the money in a mix of safe low-yield investments and stock market index funds and you’re done.

I blame the Bears for being so blatantly obvious about being done with Cutler. No one is likely to trade for him not because he’s worthless (he’s a competent starting QB, somewhere between 15-20th best in the league, on a pay-as-you-go contract) but because the Bears have done everything but call a press conference to

I think it depends on whether you’re watching something that the airline has provided (particularly if it’s displayed on a seat back) or if you’re watching something you downloaded to your device before the flight.

After reading that, I’m kind of glad he’s probably already got CTE.

But even if there’s a certain uniformity of belief, it doesn’t manifest in trying to actually impact the lives of people they disagree with. Take LGBT issues. While t is fair to say that many progressives have a negative opinion of anyone who doesn’t support equal rights for the LGBT community, it is very rare to hear

There’s at least an argument to be made for doing something to change the way extra inning games are played in the regular season. But suggesting that the outcome of a playoff game should be decided by a home run derby is absurd.

It doesn’t change the illegality of hitting a security guard, but if he was really asked to leave for no reason, I’m team Oakley here.

I hope the next thing I read about Michael Vick is his obituary.

Sorry, but I think that’s bad advice. First off all, for $2M in assets to give off $150k in just interest income, that assumes a 7.5% return. That may be a fair estimate for what your investments will average throughout your working life but if you shift to a more conservative approach in retirement you can’t

5 major pro teams in Chicago, and 3 of them are just plain bad. And the two that are doing well were historically bad until the last decade! Jesus.

The 6 Bulls championships came when they had the greatest player of all time, and the 2005 White Sox were a fluke. Reinsdorf is without question the most overrate owner to boast multiple championships.

I don’t see how work/life balance AND salary/benefits ranked lowest. Are there really people who say things like “the pay isn’t great and I work a ton of unpaid overtime, but I love the leadership at work?” I mean, people who aren’t brain dead?

Am I misinterpreting, or is the tone of the first paragraph suggesting that Mike Tomlin is equally out of touch as reporters who think that Brown did something wrong? Say what you will about reporters’ takes, but I think the coach has every right to be pissed off.

Well said. The family earning $200k a year may not truly be middle-class, but they have a hell of a lot more in common with the middle-class family making $50k a year than the guy sitting on $50M in assets.
