The most frustrating hipocracy of all this bullshit is that the NFL doesn’t give a fuck about their “core” fans. Any one who has watched a game on TV knows that.

I’d be in for it if players (or other teams) could also buy out their deal if the ownership isn’t living up to the expectations of the player.

It’s only a matter of time before his willful contrarianism forces him to go work at Slate.

Don’t forget declaring a statewide day of prayer for the oil industry. The same oil industry that got a shitload of tax breaks that basically bankrupted the public school system.

They position themselves as the only news network that’s not scared to tell the actual, honest to God TRUTH. They may seem like a parody and they are absolutely full of shit. But they are not winking while they do it.

If his kids didn’t work hard enough to get scholarships to college, they better start taking out some student loans! No free rides in America!

More people need to know and acknowledge this truth.

Just watched the video on the PFT link to Reid’s quote. He is clearly more pissed off at the media asking him stupid questions than he is trying to send a subtle signal to missing players.
Florio’s article seems to think he’s really mad at the players, but that doesn’t seem to have any evidence backing it up. At least

That Andy Reid quote definitely sounds to me like he’s more frustrated with being asked, by the media he’s addressing, about players who aren’t at OTAs than it does that he’s stressed out that players aren’t there.

Agreed. I don’t think it’s accurate to say that Leach got run out of Tech because he was just an eccentric. Most colleges will put up with a lot of bullshit if you’re winning football games (e.g. Baylor, Penn State)

Iraq was a lot more All-American than we gave it credit for.

Lubbock may not be great, but let’s not ignore that Tommy Tuberville is a fucking dipshit.

I got to a Big 12 football game pretty early one day and didn’t have a tailgate to hang out at so I went to the stadium about 30 minutes early. They were doing all the legally required announcements before the game started. One of them was asking fans to remember to please remember not to swear or shout any racist

Basically, the Warriors used to be that new band that you really liked. Their first single (the run at the regular season wins record) came out and no one had heard of them before and everyone liked them and wanted to see them succeed.

I saw King Arthur last night. It’s the second Charlie Hunnam starring movie I’ve seen this week. I liked it better than The Lost City of Z. I did not expect that. But Z (or Zed) is really dull and tries to cram way too much into the film and King Arthur is pretty much exactly what you’d expect from Guy Ritchie. It

There should have been a line of people in front or behind me. It’s Diana Taurasi—WNBA legend. Where is the media presence?

What the fuck, MLB.com? Nothing quite as exciting as a 30 second video of an inside the park home run that spends more time showing a slow motion instant replay of a ball rolling past a guy than it does of the batter hustling his ass around the bases.

According to the article, “nearly 50" showed up in 2015. An NFL roster is 53 men. So even if all 3-4 who didn’t show were avoiding Obama, it’s much fewer/less significant than the 11 confirmed who opted out this time.

I know this article is over a year old, but I just came across it and I’m glad you wrote about it. I do disagree with one point though:
