Saldana is actually playing Gamera, not Gamora. It's the crossover you never knew you wanted.

Victoria Song loves the cups.
In the Stephen King miniseries Kingdom Hospital (based on Lars von Trier's Riget), an image of the anteater entity that lurks the hospital grounds appears on a wooden wall, and it always reminded me of this artwork. I assume it was inspired by it. Anyway, it was creepy and I loved it.
I love the retro styling going on here. The terribly wrong reconstructions of the past have their own charm. The lovely Crystal Palace "Iguanodon" statues have been my wallpaper for a while.
I have a poster of this image, and I used to have this giant cardboard standee that featured a portion of it (couple of raptors, big pop out Rex head), which I got from a gas station after they were done using it for a Lost World promotion. I lost it when I moved, though - it either got left in the roof where it was…
I don't think I had them more than a couple of times, but I think I liked these - I actually had no idea there was a dilophosaur one though. I was a hoarder/collector kid, so I kept the box. I still have it, packaged away somewhere. Too bad I didn't get the spitter box too.
I was wondering if this artwork inspired Ramiel, too. Wouldn't surprise me.
Thank you! Holy crap, they were from Kinnikuman? I've never read/watched that series, but I'm well aware of it. Gee.
Ooh! Can you tell me, what are these little guys called? I have a handful of them from my childhood that I got at a fair. I also have some Monster in my Pocket figurines, which I liked more, but these guys were sweet too.
I can't remember the cartoon almost at all, but the Ring Raiders toys were cool. I liked how they could pivot on the rod that connected to the ring (so you could 'pose' them in like they were climbing or diving, etc), and some of the color schemes/designs were goddamn sweet (especially the bad guys).
Even the writers couldn't keep complete track of things - was it Thunderhawk and Sojourner that got mixed up at one point, with the son becoming the father and the father becoming the son? Even the updated family tree in the new Sonic Comic Encyclopedia gives one character a completely different name (Jordann's wife…
Agreed, he's going to take out Todd and company, set Jesse free, then probably hand him a gun and tell him to do whatever he wants with it. But would Jesse kill him? I think that as much as he hates him, he's done with this shit, and wouldn't kill even Walt.
It's been years since I saw it, but the fight against the dogs is actually my favorite part of the movie, because it's kinda raw and primal. Hulk claws and swats at the things, just kind of trying to get them the hell away, or dead as soon as possible, and they actually rough him up pretty nicely too. Also, didn't Ang…
There's 20th Anniversary Editions of the first two books available, which have some extra stuff (afterword, 'making of' type stuff) in them. Although I already owned the first two books, I picked up these new versions alongside the third and fourth books ('First Flight' and 'Journey to Chandara' - I didn't know these…
A few entities are cut out between the slices presented here - the Halo Elephant is one of them. See the complete image via the link to the artist's DevArt page.
Haha, bloody hell, what happened, some kind of End of Eva deal? Except we're left with the back half of giant Sonic's head.
I'm going to take this opportunity to recommend Weta Workshop's "The Art of District 9". It's a beautifully put together book, brimming with interesting concept art and prop shots. You can get it on Amazon for a pretty great price considering it's 160 pages. Though it might still be available through Weta's own store…
That is actually pretty awesome - my childhood has been retroactively enhanced. Thank you.
I've only seen a few episodes here and there - thought it was alright, though I had no desire to become a regular viewer. But that was a few years ago, when I hadn't been pummeled about the face with Who every day of my life. It's mostly my own fault for frequenting sci-fi sites, but my God, people find a way to bring…
