Rei is in hospital a fair bit, but it's Asuka that goes into a coma and is 'witness' to Shinji's... 'antic'. Go to Youtube and search "End of Evangelion hospital scene" or "End of Evangelion THAT scene". Yep, I know you're not referring to the end scene on the beach.

Guys, take a look back at this article from July (god, I remember reading this and lamenting that it'd be a year before I got to see the film). Now that we have a bit of grounding from seeing the trailer, going back to this article will clue you in to some other stuff you might have been wondering about.

We don't know what's on the other side of the portal. It could be home to a race that wants to clear us out before taking over our world. Maybe we'll get a scene where they're performing an autopsy on the corpse of a monster, and find some kind of futuristic technology inside its brain. Never know. However, there is

I wish I could plow back through everything I've read and find you the appropriate link, but I'm short on time right now (and also lazy), so going by memory; The first kaiju attack takes place in Japan, and I believe that it decimates the area it makes landfall before finally being taken out by conventional weapons.

It wasn't a surprise to me (and therefore didn't disappoint me) that the monsters emerged from a portal, because it was revealed pretty early on (don't know if you followed news of the movie, but it might have been buried among other stuff anyway, and therefore easy to miss). I don't know if this helps you or not, but

'Coyote Tango' sounds like a really western name for the Japanese machine. Just to be clear, I'm not saying you're wrong (I've seen all the blueprints too), just mentioning that the name is an odd choice.

Evangelion's sixth Angel, Gaghiel?

Relax - tmacm's probably just proud of the whole "PR-PR!" thing. That's why s/he's posted the same message five times.

I'd never heard of Shogun Warriors, but upon performing a Google image search, I found that HOLY CRAP - the line was comprised of mecha (and monsters) borrowed from pre-existing Japanese animated series. Instantly recognised images of Raideen, Mazinger was there, saw Gaiking too... Wikipedia's page for Shogun Warriors

If you're using 'tearjerking' in a context different from the common use of that term, and are making a reference to 'THAT scene' in End of Eva, it was Asuka (redhead), not the blue-haired Rei. Also, ew, don't make me remember that.

To everyone asking why we would build robots to fight in close quarters combat rather than just nuking the crap out of these creatures, del Toro has touched upon it. It's not exactly perfect, but the idea is that the monsters may still get to shore* and when they do, you want to have something that can hold them back

I feel there are many other things this movie is 'derivative of' (I really don't mean it that way, though I do understand there is some level of intentional homage being paid to classic kaiju movies and animated mecha shows. Perhaps a better way to put it is 'easily compared to'), but Power Rangers isn't really

I felt like by acknowledging the risk of overhype that I'd manage to avoid falling into that actual trap, but I guess not. Maybe if I hadn't daydreamed about what we'd see in the trailer (what I visualized was a more atmospheric, and the lead-in to seeing the major awesome was differently paced) I wouldn't have been

For sure a big part of it is that the sense of scale doesn't come through, yes. I was expecting the complete opposite going by what del Toro had been saying (but I'm sure it's better on a big screen). I also may have been expecting the CG to be a little more convincing, too - not like it's bad, but... will we ever

Oooh, harsh.. but probably fair. Relax though, it's not like I think it looks lame (unlike plenty of people on Twitter going "Lol Transformers + Cloverfield/Godzilla dur hurr, this will suck") - I'm still majorly psyched. I think it was mainly the presentation of the thing that did it a disservice in my eyes (the

Fired up the Youtube app on my Xbox for the first time ever so I could watch it on my big screen... turns out you need to have Gold membership to use Youtube through your Xbox >: |

This is weird. I waited months to see this, got up early to check out the trailer (thanks for making us wait past the end of the countdown timer, Apple) and now I have very little to say. My hypeometer isn't quite hitting where it should and I feel like the problem is with me (it is right? I know it is). Seems like it

The crossover spans three titles (Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic Universe and Mega Man - 4 issues of each for a total of 12 books). I see what's confusing you though - that's just a promotional image for the event rather than a stand alone 'Worlds Collide' comic series. Click the link in the second paragraph ("what to

Lord of the Rings may not have been subjected to this, but the cash cow that is Evangelion sure has! I love Eva but... man. I think that only Eva can match (and perhaps surpass) the merch storm of what I see as the major product-pumping franchise; Star Wars. More on Evangelion Sante FX eye drops here:

A fellow Sone!! How incredible is this song? By far my favourite from them and definitely my fave song on the radio right now (I listen to an Asian Pop radio programme every weekday). 2NE1 will forever be my fave group though - BlackJack through and through here.
