I did say “practically immune”...sure he got hit by those lightning bolts a lot and damaged but they didn’t effect him nearly as much as they would have before

Lets establish one other thing: the DCAU isn’t superior because the Snyderverse is too dark.

Yes, World’s Finest is fun especially compared with BvS but do not sleep on how dark the DCAU could get. This a universe where the Joker kidnapped, tortured, and brainwashed Robin into another version of himself until that

That’s too bad. I’ve been catching up on the DCAU in recent months (mainly Justice League/Justice League Unlimited on Netflix, but next up is probably Superman on Amazon Prime), and I’ve been very impressed with it so far.

It’s just further proof that Bruce Timm and Paul Dini should be in charge of the DCEU since they already built a shared universe with the DCAU. Sadly WB won’t do that because they see those two as nothing more then animators.

Years later, I still can’t stand Black Adam somehow getting the drop on the FLASH.

As a general rule, the Dini/Timm animated version of anything in the DCU beats the live-action version of it. There are probably a handful of Christopher Reeve scenes that are an exception, but that’s about it.

why cant superman be shown in this way? it’s reality, it would exist for all superman. to pretend like he can be everywhere is flat out stupid.

It’s what Superman is supposed to be.

And don’t forget to slam a normal human at super speed into a wall, which would definitely kill that guy and violate Snyder’s supposed Post-Zod No-kill rule.

So Snyder is saying that Superman will only help other people in when he knows his friends and family are not in danger? He’ll help others if he has the time or inclination, I guess.

Has Warner Brothers not realized that everything Zack Snyder should not be giving interviews because everything he’s said in past interviews makes him look like an incompetent moron.

And yet, he'll fly down to Mexico to save whoever. That was a scene, right? I can't even remember half the things that happened in that movie because they happened without reason or context.

Of course it means that I now have no clue how Superman showed up to save Lois in the opening scene unless he always hovers within his range of her. Which is another kind of creepy all together... and, no. I’m letting this particular plothole go.)

Hah, I am an avowed Trek fan as well. I’ve felt for a while it and Superman went hand in hand. Optimistic, a little preachy, and maybe a little boring, but the latter is as much an indictment of the audience for finding people being good for the sake of it boring. IE maybe there is a reason we don’t live in a utopia,

Oh I agree, 1000%. It’s why I added that long aside about winning genetic and social standing lotteries. As a sports fan, I know I could do a lot to be better at some random sport by working my tail off. I might even be able to be semi-competent if I worked on the “only possible for fictional characters” level of what

The Injustice argument doesn’t hold up. First, I liked Injustice and thought it was some of the most brilliant writing to come out of DC in a while (then I found out it wasn’t written by DC, but by the game company.. and it all made sense... :)

My hatred of MoS was because I found it boring. Once it left Krypton, the movie was super boring. I hated how no one emoted or acted remotely human. Plus I really disliked most of the characters.

I really like Man of Steel. Not because it’s a perfect movie, but it was a great first chapter. I was also ready for a different Superman in film. Whenever I want Christopher Reeve, I watch those films (even III and IV), and I was glad to get something new. I loved the scenes on Krypton, I loved getting to see

Yes, because there’s an alternate universe story in which he’s a villain, it makes sense for him to be a dick even in his “heroic” version. Solid reasoning.
