The reason people bring up the name thing is that it is one of the worst things said in movie history. First of all Why would Superman say his mothers name and not just Mom? Second why would it snap Batman out of it? Because that seems to imply that if a criminal says his daughters name before Batmans gonna kill him

For me I have to be honest Batman has seen much much worse shit in his 70 year history than the destruction of Metropolis so for me this is very dumb. But also this does not explain the branding, killing and generally massacring people that Batman does. Again a large part that defines Batmans 70 year history is him

But it is not like they had an entire movie dedicated towards showing us his childhood and upbrining as well as his wanderings around the Earth for 15 years we definitely need 4 movies telling what is the same story thematically and symbolically.

Yeah because Snyderverse has emotional depth..... You know with the nonsensicle suicides, crying for 1 minute after killing a dude and later snogging with his girlfriend, the entire conflict is resolved through telling someone their mothers name.... Real emotional depth there.

My problem with it is the fact it had no ambition at all. Like most of Snyders works he is simply copypasting from comics he clearly never read but flipped through.

“The main thing we learned [on Batman v Superman] is that people don’t like to see their heroes deconstructed,” said producer Deborah Snyder.

In your opinions why the fuck can’t DC actually gives us good Superhero movies? It shouldn’t be this hard.

They are so trying to pass of Injustice though as a real examination of Superman which fails in the first place due to Lois lane dying. Yes the “real” Superman shows up but it still tries desperately to really say that all it would take for Superman to go evil is Lois Lane dying which for me is super simplistic and

Thing is though Red Son is not Superman turned evil since while he is a benevolent dictator and the entire storyline revolves how this character shouldn’t be one. He never massacres innocents, he never does genocide, he is just an authoritarian version of old Supes. Rather than being the leading beacon of hope and

It still tries so hard to show how they think this is actually a psychologically deep comment on Superman though and it is so childish.

Which also is way it fails. In a much better and more complicated take on this Superman saw lois and many people die by the Joker and you what he did. He left us because ordinary people wanted the joker dead and e couldn’t do it even for revenge.

For me Injustice fails in the same way every incarnation of evil Superman fails. It is not actually addressing the issues of fascism, power, authoritarianism and falling into the “dark side”. It merely uses Superman killing people because that is what thirteen year olds that recently read the first issue of Watchmen

I love how all the butthurt fanboys whine about how Batman really is the best since he thought about ways of defeating every other hero (disregarding the fact that the story was about how Batmans paranoia is hurting everyone around him and his inability to trust means that he is close to becoming a bigger threat than

We all know the true best one.........

Thing is though when Green Arrow is written the best he isn’t liberal but more left wing than that more like an libertarian socialist which is why all portrayal of him with wealth fails miserably because he was/is best when he is a failed rich guy that realises that even wealth from the “right people” is not fixing

I know this is most likely a bad question but why is Commissioner Gordon in a Justice League movie to begin with except simply as a cameo?

Depends of which incarnation of Question. In Steve Ditkos run yes uber conservative and objectivist, he was after all the inspiration to Rorschach. But then the God of Reinterpretation of Superheroes, Dennis O’Neill took the character and made into a unique philosophic (and kinda left wing) character that emphasized

In the original it was Katar Hol version of Hawkman. But even then there really are no other political heroes. Which is why he works so well. He is the wake up call to other heroes. This doesn’t mean he is always right but just that he makes others think. One of the best moments in Quiver is when he meets Aquaman and

Thats because we finally after many many years see the Emerald Archer brought back to glory with good writing to boot.

His age has always been iffy since pre crisis he was the young one in his and black canarys relationship but than Mike Grell made him older to illustrate a more mature take and in the 90s they made him roughly in his mid 30 to early 40s.
