Exactly my problem with this video. If your goal is to shine the light on the bad as something to move away from, why wouldn't you also portray the good as something to be moving toward?

That's what I find missing too. There is plenty of "this sucks, that's lame, wild conjecture", but nothing to push toward a goal, like improving the depth, quality and content of female characters in games.
"Behold, it is Eye!"
I would equate games to the manufacturing of any product - let's say cars. A company usually builds a final product from years of R&D, then they send all the specs of that final design to a plant to copy that design over and over into the final product. You buy one - you own that one. You don't own the rights to…
Oh, people are all like "devs/publishers lose money". Hypothetically, I suppose that's true, but it's the cost of doing business - same as a farmer expects a certain crop loss, manufacturer expects certain defects, grocers won't sell all perishables, etc. I'm not sure why people feel entertainment products, video…
And, when dealing with yellow journalism, it's best not to engage them at all...
It's stealing in the lay sense, if not the legal sense (copyright). You're taking something that doesn't belong to you, that you have no legal access to, which you would otherwise have to pay for. A copy is a refabrication of the original, right? It's just really, really easy to do. If you had the resources and…
I kinda feel like when people imply one Zelda title is lesser than another, it's like placing bronze in the Olympics. Sure, you're not the best, or even the second best, but you are better than EVERYONE ELSE IN THE WORLD!
"Some have pointed out that the dwarf character—a shirtless warrior with disproportionate muscles—is just as sexualized and over-exaggerated as the sorceress. That's true. He's also straight out of a straight male power fantasy"
It's $3 - it's a comic. You can read the first issue thru Comixology. What's to sell? It's going to dent neither your wallet, nor you hourglass. Live a little-take that risk!!!
The strongest argument I've heard for backwards compatibility is that a new console's launch library is extremely anemic, and even after launch, takes real time to grow. Backwards compatibility makes the console about a 1000x more useful to early adopters. For example, if MS wants to tap into that very large…
I would love to have "Orthy" over to watch a DVD on my 360. He can experience the joys of "Disconnected from Xbox Live" popups during movies. They're especially great when they pop up over subtitles. During movies is annoying - I'm not sure I could abide that same thing stopping my game...
You've, uh, you've played a Bioshock before, right?
Good point - Day of the Tentacle on my Android device would be rad! It should've been a no-brainer for Lucasarts...
In double-vision where drunk!
Yeah, that game was awesome back in the day!! I thought I was the only one that remembered...
I do! Poor lady got zero credit...
Not sure what to make of this... Despite what folks who work on Unreal say, it pretty clearly favors DirectX. We've seen plenty of Unreal-powered games come out for Xbox/PC, but be delayed (to whatever degree) for PS3.
CCGs are still a thing?
