While not without nit-picking issues, the Instant Pot is all that. But I still use my rice cooker (cheap, non-Zojirushi) when I’m using the IP for the main course (yes, I’ve done “pot in pot”, but it still seems cumbersome).

Calrose’s a stubbier, thicker grain, so I do high pressure at 6 minutes, 10 mins natural release.
Not the USOC, just the US in general if I recall correctly. But I was happy to take the “W” anyway that I could.
You wouldn’t have to have a single host city if they just accept that only rich countries with sufficient existing infrastructure can host. And with a permanent host you would have housing for 10,000 sitting empty for four years. A city like LA could use the housing after the games while not spending on venues since…
That was a giant FU from the IOC to the USOC. Had nothing to do with the quality of the bid and was all about $$.
I think its time for a permanent set of Olympic Venues (summer and winter) somewhere where the land is managed by the UN and everyone has to travel there to see it. It could make its money between games by being a neutral territory where nations can come to solve their differences peacefully.... or violently in the…
One of my favorite moments of the past 10 years is still when not only didn’t Chicago get the 2016 Olympic bid, but they were voted out first. I can’t even imagine how the corrupt Daley machine would have fucked us over if that bid had been won.
“...Jackie Chan concert.”
“even a Jackie Chan concert.”
My solution has always been to hold the Olympics in ONE location. One for summer and one for winter.
Then each participating nation buys in (at a rate that scales with GDP or a better metric) to cover the costs of having the games. Being in one place means you only have to construct once, and then maintain.
So, say, we…
I think it’s interesting that you don’t see recent past hosts bidding for the Winter Olympics. Are they such horrible money losers that they aren’t worth hosting even if you already have all the infrastructure to host a world-class event? Obviously (for both good and bad) reasons, the IOC would like to move the events…
Look here man, if I can’t watch skinny nordic people ski around on flat ground and shoot guns at stationary targets, then let’s cancel the whole thing.
If people are so die hard about the brand of the olympics couldn’t they just shrink the number of disciplines/events to like 40 so that it’s not as much headache or money to put these things on? Cut it to the 40 events that people will watch (figure skating, hockey, snowboarding)
Hosting an Olympics might be the stupidest thing a city could do now, other than publicly funding a stadium.
While our gun epidemic is certainly a crisis that needs addressing, this report is pretty alarmist.
Tropic Thunder was absolutely hilarious and was not what I would call a stupid movie, though it did have *some* dumb (but still funny) jokes.
Tropic Thunder is the best written comedy of all time. I'm serious.
So the question is did good actors improvising save those other movies or did bad actors improving kill this movie?
You’re right. Originally with Sacha Baron Cohen as Holmes and Ferrell as Watson. He had 10 years to prepare that goddamn accent.
Etan Cohen is also the writer of Idiocracy, Tropic Thunder, and Walk Hard. So his putting out something like this is especially heartbreaking.
