Waitaminnit- won’t this affect white people in trailer parks as well?

Interestingly enough, and something that I should probably add to the post at the end of my shift: this actually affects a shitload more non-Native voters than it does Natives, but percentage wise is far more likely to affect Natives. I guess the ND GOP figures it’s fine to disenfranchise a shitload of non-Native

I was wondering what was missing here, because this seemed truly unreasonable.

Broccoli continued, “We don’t have to turn male characters into women. Let’s just create more female characters and make the story fit those female characters.” She also conceded that, hello, Bond can’t be considered feminist because of “those early movies.”

I remember, vaguely, from when I lived in England, there was a “Bondish” woman character, Modesty Blaise. It was a comic and there have been movies made but noting that really stuck. some quick research shows that Tarrentino has been interested in doing a movie about her.

Apparently, some people really dislike the word “female.” Can’t remember why.

Gender-bending established franchises always seems to come off as more of a cop-out rather than progressively-minded writing.

is “woman” an adjective? why is the headline “woman bond” instead of “female bond”?

Eh, I’d rather watch a new franchise feat. the adventures of a female 005 or 006, with potential crossover/team-up with Bond, than a gender-switched Jane Bond which would replay the Bond hits, “but with a female Bond !”.

I doubt she even knows what she’s wearing or why, but it’s fair to point out that the fiber helmet (aka American pith helmet) was developed later (in the 1930s) and worn by all branches of the U.S. military at some point, with, I believe, military marksmen still wearing it as part of their uniform. Tell me again, oh wonderful white Americans with Anglo-surnames like ‘Faircloth’, how many countries has Slovenia oppressed and colonised? Then tell me, how many countries has the United States, the United Kingdom and the rest of Western Europe oppressed and colonised?

I have a feeling she can afford to buy as many new sets of white clothing as she wants.

My assumption is she has zero foreknowledge of the entire concept of colonialism and much more popular culture knowledge about what looks cute. On top of that, if you think about modeling, and all she’s really ever been is a model, lots of those shoots employ the fashion and props of stereotypes as an artistic choice.

I hate that we try to read anything into her headgear and fashion choices, but this one is really, really weird.

Melania trump is nothing if not stupid. Expecting her to know about the history of countries she visits is expecting too much of her. trump hired her to be an accessory and that’s it. It’s simply not in her contract to put effort into anything beyond that.

I think you're giving her too much credit if you think she should know what it symbolizes
