I don't have a problem with him going for the cash grab. It usually takes some kind of funding to develop a game.

@BrtStlnd: The combination of color and platform ultimately turned off the initial excitement that I get whenever I see big engine + small car fun times.

Nicely done, Houston. Rare to hear about the will of the people outdoing PACs and corporations.

Well, with modern body preservation techniques, it's a hell of a lot harder to get buried alive (in the "civilized" world, at any rate) than it used to be.

I just can't get behind it, somehow. It looks good. It just feels wrong.

@ahnuc: Pontiac design language during that time period was basically an oxymoron.

@paintandswim09: I don't know what you should have called it, but I know that if you pick a name that has a strong history, you'd better have a damned strong car behind it.

What a crock of horse shit.

People didn't skip the GTO because they didn't want to put their money where their mouths were when it came to getting Australian vehicular goodness. They skipped it because it was called the GTO and kind of looked like a jellybean. The lack of discernible styling elements, combined with that name, is what killed it.

@BradMW: True. I've got a soft spot for hot sedans for some reason, and the E46 didn't have a M3 sedan, so the E36 has a special place in my heart.

@jzEllis: I know what you mean in re: the GTO not looking like everything else on the road. But you have to remember, with a historic name comes people's gold-tinged memories of the "good old days."

@teencarfreak: In a world where Tiguan and Routan are accepted as car names, I feel like Pontiac could have come up with something else — anything else — and it would have been a better idea.

@GasGuzzler: The Evo is the only car they make that's worth a damn, and even that is so techno and doohickey'd out that it barely feels like a car.

@ManBehindTheDesk: From what I can tell, it's a no-cost alternative to having your genitals scanned.

@Jared904: Hmm... if I had looked closer, I suppose I would have realized that he posted both of those images.

This is one way to encourage people to fly.

@Totoros Porsche: Are you missing the point, or are you asserting that something overshadowed the RX-7?

@BtheD19: Link's broken. E36 M3 and E39 M5 are where I think BMW peaked, personally.
