I had a whole long screed that I was going to post about how video games need to take the best elements from movies, books, comics, etc. to create something that none of those forms of media could emulate.

Are you surprised? Nerd excitement about a movie does not necessarily translate into big box office numbers (see: Snakes on a Plane). Give it some time and see if word of mouth can improve on the numbers.

So... they were so ambitious with APB that they didn't have any ambition left to do anything meaningful with Crackdown 2? Interesting.

I didn't realize that Timothy Olyphant was doing the voicework. Sounds pretty good.

@Type R: The Euro Type-R is nicer... but have they upped the power yet? I still remember when they did the "we're going to increase weight without increasing power" routine. Have they resolved that?

@jakebonz: There are companies that make that stuff independent of the car companies; I remember reading an article about it in C/D (I think) a couple of years ago.
