This was probably vacuum formed plastic. They could have used the original parts as mold plugs. Then they just trimmed, painted and glued the separate pieces together.

I wonder what it would weight if you gutted all the internals that you can't see? Take out pistons, rods, maybe even a crank, gut the generator and pumps, etc. Basically, what's the weight of a bare block?

I bought a Harbor Freight torque wrench about ten years ago thinking well it will snap in a year or so and I will buy a really nice one. The thing is still going strong and is still accurate tested against a friend's wrench that cost multiples of what I paid for mine.
