The original Enterprise! Shooting at some kind of robot thing

haha, Who knows, maybe the dude who owns it is named Boldy

Boldy go where no van has gone before!

Sadly, you have to make organisations work hard to move the world forward. If the government let these companies do what they wanted for the bottom line, then the world would be an even bigger mess than it already is. I mean, look at the difficulty in getting rid of coal power in the states due to lax regulations.

Because fun?

Primesense used to provide Kinect drivers for experimentation (for free). How nice of Apple to do away with that too

And here I am, spending less than half of that on an Android phone with a better camera and SD card support. I. am. a. sucker. And don’t get me started on my headphone jack. Convenience belongs in the past!

Haha, truth! The Oppo farm is the crop that keeps on giving. They used to do the hat tips at least to the original posters

So, are you guys getting paid to dig into Tesla or something? This article is semi-understandable, but even when they did a good thing for people in the hurricane zone, you all made it sound like it was the start of the robot uprising.

Company does a good thing, becomes a villain in a sci-fi plot. The guy bought the lower range model, so he knew exactly what he was getting. It’d be like Apple giving away apps for free in an emergency, or broadband internet unlocking the full bandwidth available to help people out. It’s all there and readily

I could see people buying the lesser ranged model by choice too, it may help the longevity of the battery pack

I really don’t think the problem is that the electric cars get power from coal, it’s that the USA is so reliant on coal power to begin with. It’s a bigger issue, which the government should be trying much harder to mitigate. In other markets, the coal power issue couldn’t even be raised.

Then there’s the downtime (which gets included) of 100 days of servicing or whatever. That counts as lost income because they need another vehicle to cover it. Then there’s all the other maintenance for a 300,000 mile vehicle, which includes overhauling just about everything. Transmission fluid, belts, cost of oil,

One word: Fuel

Fuel dude. Fuel costs big money

After reading the comments, I feel like I should lay down the logic of a mandatory helmet law. In essence, when you ride without gear, you have a much higher chance of being seriously injured or killed. This higher risk translates to more time and money having to be spent on riders by first responders, doctors,

Oh snap! I didn’t realize how cheap those were. I think you nailed it!
