yes! so true! so many women defending him because (allegedly) they were abuse victims (OK that’s terrible) BUT somehow that motivates them to defend him to stand up for the forgotten victims of domestic abuse—men. I know both things are true but it’s the connection between the two that loses me.

I see this argument a lot - and it’s similarly applied when we talk about casting cisgender people in trans roles and so on - and what this misses is the part where our sentiments about fat people are such that we would rather put people in fat suits than actually go around seeking talent in a variety of different…
