This will end up being a GOTY purchase for me, 3 years AFTER it has been released and the price has been slashed so much that they are practically giving away copies with every box of Wheaties.

<insert 'why not both?' picture here>
I forget, but didn’t he say the Time Lords gave him a new set of regenerations during the Time War so he could fight for them?
That ending!! Massive props to everyone involved for keeping THAT a secret!! Wow. It is going to be a long 5 months to see how that works out.
Is it confirmed he does actually save her? I’m kinda hoping she doesn’t get reverted back to human form... just for a refreshing change of pace.
I think most casual viewers would have gone ‘huh?’ because the Mondasian link is pretty bloody obscure even for people who grew up watching the show. Even back then their point of origin was never a big deal, not in the same sense that Skaro was for the daleks.
I wonder if she ran in a straight line, or if it was more a dithering stumble with a bunch of u-turns...
Plus he doesn’t hide his baldness behind a deceased gopher.
You win the award for most contemptible thing I’ve read today. Congratulations.
Casting a woman would certainly make people take a new peek at the show but so would casting a new bloke, whether he is a hot young strumpet or a grizzled old misery guts. If the stories and season arcs are tedious affairs that go nowhere and eventually make people turn off after a few episodes then was it really…
How so? I quite clearly stated I’m cool with the idea of The Doctor being cast as absolutely anyone who is fit for the role, I just don’t think that the casting alone would ‘revitalise’ the show.
Casting a more diverse Doctor would revitalize the show, encouraging a new audience while challenging current fans.
Get with the times, gramps! Real words aren’t cool or hip anymore. Stop being so xglhgy and loosen up a bseuy.
I’ve actually never watched that. I think it was this:
I read or watched somewhere that his suit and all of its limitations (it was extremely itchy and uncomfortable, not to mention very susceptible to electrical interference, such as sith lightning pew pew powers) was imposed on him by the emperor because he feared that even an limbless Anakin was more than capable of…
I still feel like I’d be betraying Neil Gaiman and Mike Carey by watching this, so I won’t. <harumph>
So if I disagree with the re-naming (which, to me, serves no purpose) it automatically makes me a right-wing misogynist? Hmm. That’s annoying.
Ah, humanity. Just when I think you’ve run out of ways to disappoint me, you somehow manage to pull one out of the bag. Kudos.
Ugh. This world. Its like it is in constant competition with itself to be as awful as possible these days.
This was a bloody awful episode and is a good reminder of why I am glad Moffat’s rule is coming to an end.
