Actually yes, that is what these components are made for. Engine braking isn’t harmful to an engine at all, and besides, if anything gets any wear it is the clutch which is dead cheap (50€ for a Miata p.ex. in parts)

When an automatic car changes up a gear in stop-and-go traffic, it just caused unnecessary wear-and-tear, because I want to to keep the revs high for engine braking and now I have to use the friction brakes instead.

Every car should have a manual transmission.

How about replacing it with a copy that has no mention of Trump at all? If something is broken it stands out, but putting a Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton star that looks the same in it’s place?  How long would it take to notice that?

People are only buying and re-selling the car BECAUSE Ford limited the production quantity. Why would you pay $2m for a used car, when you could get a new one for $450K?
