30 years ago my TI-83+ calculator could have piloted a manned mission to the moon... the estimates have gotten better with improved technology. Humans are stupid and lazy and won’t change unless they’re afraid.

I agree entirely, but you can’t complain about people opening a box, that they own, that you haven’t even locked.

I wonder why exactly they would even try and implement this. As, you mention, most people aren’t going to mess with their ECU firmware, and it won’t stop outright forgeries (cough*China*cough), what’s their benefit?
