As a 1st Gen Lightning owner, I second your approval of this truck...I'm very much in love.

NLOC is FLOODED with "what is the cheapest way to make power on these trucks" and the exact answer, every single time, is a centrifugal blower, traction bars, and a valvebody...

i feel this exact same way...every time i've been pulled over and acted correctly I feel like the person was much much nicer, even if I was doing INCREDIBLE wrong

i feel like they made mistakes on both sides, that Lightning running 9.2-9.3 on a turbo was BS, I have slips of me running that on a stock truck!

if they get them, i'm racing you :) TRUCKS! muscle truck shootout says i'll be faster ;)

I'm gonna play devil's advocate here and say that this guy probably had it coming to him. Not certain, but the way that most people deal with police is pretty stupid. There is a distinct way to deal with police that makes them feel comfortable, and thus more inclined to let you go regardless of the situation.

I'm going to complain about EVERY car pack until I get a 1993-1995 Ford F150 Lightning.....

this maintains pretty fantastic driveability, no snorting, no backfiring, and a 13.0AFR at WOT....i'm really diggin it!

does tuning software that combines full ECU parameter access with complete datalogging of all vehicular sensors, and a datalogging wideband count as nerdy? (yes that is my current VE table, no it is not perfect yet, yes i am working on it, and yes it will change when a turbocharger is added)

they did in fact come out in 99, but i prefer First Gen to Second Gen.....the wheels are now painted a very nice silver, as the chrome was peeling..it looks VERY good as well, especially for less than 35 bucks and a few hours of my time...

i disagree greatly, i have yet to drive a vehicle equivalent to this that handles as well as it does...with a bit of lowering and new bushings, i bet it will be a killer! stock for stock, yeah, it is no longer the powerhouse that it was...but with a few well placed mods, it can be a real performer
