Was there ever any doubt there wasn’t going to be new characters introduced into season two? The What If series is the perfect vehicle to introduce lesser and forgotten characters into the MCU in a safe manner. If it bombs, Marvel/Disney can move on to the next character and try again until something sticks. 

Naw, man, that’s how future creators try this bullshit and get away with it. You let this developer do it and more will follow, and they won’t be as transparent about it.

This is about as believable as when Rocksteady claimed that the Arkham Knight wasn’t Jason Todd and was an original character.
