Landlines basically are dead though. Most people who have one here in the UK are because its frequently cheaper to get internet + landline from a provider than just internet (which is dumb but hey, I’m not gonna turn it down). I have a landline that we use because my girlfriend’s parents are overseas and their mobile…

Sidequests, reading in game stuff etc, I’m fine with. If you’re leaving stuff to DLC or sequels though it better not actually be important stuff - games thankfully aren’t doing this so much now, its more a problem of movies, but the 2008 reboot of Prince of Persia comes to mind where the proper ending was left to paid…
