I like the way this sort of thing is going. I’m going to be throwing down a not insignificant amount of cash for the NCase M1 at some point soon, to slim down my already small ITX PC even more, but at some point I’d be tempted by a souped up version of this (give me an i7 HQ with a 1080 and I’m golden for a long time)

They sound good enough for the gym/running, which would be enough for me.

Yeah. I remember everyone being hyped when EA announced two brand new IPs, Mirrors Edge and Dead Space, because you know, EA and new IP, doesn’t happen often. But then despite having a vocal fanbase, Mirrors Edge didn’t sell well and died. Then, they agreed to finally bring it back, there was a lot of hype etc, and it

Yep. Difficulty level down, IDGAF.

Yep. A mate lost his Witcher 3 save because of this. I’ve now just put my entire Documents folder in Dropbox. That and Steam/Origin cloud syncing should cover me for everything now.

So, as great as this is, it’s a bit of a bad statement about the sales of Mirrors Edge Catalyst if its already on here. I know it reviewed well, so I can only assume that people just still refused to buy it?

EA told Wong that they’re patching him out of FIFA 17.

You can click on the tweet. It’s real.

I remember playing GoW on PC with my girlfriend at the time. She brought her PC to mine, we hooked it up to my TV (CRT, SD) and played that way.

Agreed, but there’s also the fact that companies need to learn how much damage its doing to them long-term. I mean, they won’t, because they’re all pretty short-term in their view points, but still.

That actually increases my interest massively. I really miss couch co-op, and I’m always pleased to see when devs bother to do it for PC because its not like we’re not capable of plugging a couple controllers in if we want to do local co-op like that.

He’s running at 4K with everything fully maxed out. You’re unlikely to get 60fps even with an NVidia 1080 still. A new Titan X, possibly.

There’s loads of studies that show working more than about 50 hours a week regularly causes lower production than working around 40 hours a week because of exhaustion, burnout and a drop in motivation.

Yeah, you can definitely do it a different way. I know game developers who do manage to only work regular hours (9-6, minimum 1 hour lunch away from desks, 5 days a week), but its few and far between. But the rest of development has adapted to working like this now. Well, maybe except banking, but that whole industry

Not only that, but they would have kept more experienced employees around at companies if they weren’t so willing to burn them out and drive them out of gaming.

As long as they’re coming and don’t take too long, fine. They were never going to delay the PS4/Xbox One versions for this, and I’d rather the PC version come out on the same day and perfectly playable (at least, I hope it is) at 30fps and then get 60fps and other stuff patched in than wait for the same amount of time

Oh yeah, that’s annoying when that happens. Somewhat more likely in enormous offices that span multiple buildings (as some will be more open plan than others) but most places I’ve been its open for everyone which is how I prefer it.

I’ve only ever worked in open plan, I have no issue with them. The noise doesn’t bother me, and in the one place it truly was too loud, I wore headphones.

7 years ago when I went to uni, in my first year I had a triple monitor set up, an Xbox 360 and PS3, a NAS, a HTPC, and a router to get around the university accommodation rules (1 single 10mb ethernet port, no wifi, so my router filtered everything through it and gave me wifi. Only got in trouble once, where they

Yeah, I mounted mine behind my desk. Easy to access, still gets good wifi signal, but nicely out of the way.
