While you’re right that the battery will need replacing faster than a whole ICE car would, there’s already a huge difference between the cost of replacing just a battery and going out to buy a whole new car, especially with the thousands fewer moving parts that need maintenance and replacement.

You don't dispose of batteries, you recycle them. And BEVs will last from 500k - 1m miles. It's a whole new world. 

EV batteries are lasting way longer than the critics said they would. My 2015 Leaf w/35k miles still has ~95% of its initial range, which is still way more than enough to me get to work and back, run a few errands, and recharge overnight. It will take 10+ years to get down to a range where it will start to make enough…
