Nothing against the Festiva guys, but that car is a little too new and mundane for IOE, given the unreliable nature and age of its competition. Old school or rare/unreliable FTW! #fordfestiva

Man, I can't believe I gotta wait 3 1/2 more months to race LeMons again. You lucky Texan bastards! #24hoursoflemonstexas

As the proud owner of this world-famous vintage 1961 Cadillac, I'm pleased to announce that we intend to race in again at the LeMons American Irony race in Detroit in April. What more fitting racing venue could there be for this fine classic automobile? Unless, of course, someone makes me an offer I can't refuse... #24

Yes Folks - I'm the driver (Dave, not Jeff/aka Speedycop) of Car #132 who put the 1961 Caddie into the tire wall at NL. It's hard to stop that beast with drum brakes and all that weight. I'm still trying to come up with a good story...

@MadHungarian: Not only are the windows ALL in the car, they work! And yes, we'll be waggling those cool rear power vent windows. I hope the hydramatic holds up, because I talked to a tranny shop and a junkyard today, and nobody can work on it. Plus, they claim the bellhousing bolt pattern is different from later

In Soviet Union, Lada drives YOU!

You don't have to pledge a buck a lap. Click the Susan G Komen link and donate $5, 10, 20, eleventy million, whatever you can afford! It's a great cause!

BTW, the Caddy is for sale, following the race. Clear title, nothing removed but the carpet and headliner, power windows work, and great running con—-well, that'll be determined afterwards. Get your offers in now!

This video of our caddy, taken a week ago, shows we are in FINE shape for this race!

As far as the lap count goes, I'm giving us 348, and the Lada 312. Why give a better-handling, obviously better-prepped car fewer laps? Because the good people in Detroit saw fit to build our car out of sturdy Pittsburgh steel, by laborers paid for their services with cold cash. The Lada was built by [stereotype]

That Lada is a well-prepped machine! It will handle far better than our all-stock, all-original 4,710 lb (sans driver) Caddy. That said, great handling cannot make up for the all-American rumble of the 390 cubic inches of Detroit muscle, not to mention the wretched, expansive excess of heavy steel ending in
