The funny thing is, that's how it started too. The mustang was an everyman sort of quasi-muscle car (that still came with an anemic I6 if you wanted just the look), while the vette was supposed to be the american made balls out muscle with all sorts of cool tech (fiberglass!!)
I understand your comparison, but the Corvette and Mustang aren't really meant to be direct competitors. The Corvette is a purebred sports car where the Mustang is a muscle car/pony car, and the price of a Corvette is about double that of a Mustang. A more apt comparison would be the Mustang vs. the Camaro. Ford…
I've got a Daytona 675 with Leo Vince slip on and TuneECU tune. It is badass. and ridiculously loud.
Sounds a little like my Speed Triple...I love the breathy, high-pitched undertone that the Triumph Triples make...But right now it just makes me sad because we just got a foot of snow the last couple of days and the temperature is well below zero degrees Farenheit (Northern MN). I won't be riding again for several…
More ammo for the triumph triples. This one isn't mine.
YES YES YES YES YES YES
This.
I think we have a winner here!
No.
Anything 3-cylinder by Triumph at this point. Of course, I love the Sprint ST and the Rocket III.
I came to post a Street Triple. At least 4 times someone has rolled down their window to tell me how great my bike sounded.
Agreed!! I recently put the Arrow exhast on and removed the baffle. What an awesome sound!!!!
Beat me to it. A triple on a bike just sounds wonderful.
Came here to post this as well. If all goes according to plan, I will be adding one of these to the stable in the spring. Such nice bikes, and they sound like half an F1 engine.
I've got a Daytona 675, and boy there really is nothing quite like the song that engine makes. Glad you posted it.
Came here to post exactly this. If I hadn't gotten a sweet deal on my Sport 1000, I would've had one of these or the Daytona in my garage; such a cool bit of kit.
Automotive triples sound rubbish because they rev lethargically. How about a nice 885ccc carburettored triple with open filters and no silencing worth writing home about?
The current V6 is nearly 3500lb and the GT is just over 3600lb. That itself is really not bad considering that the current V6 Camaro is 3700+lb, but it could stand to lose some fat.
An S2000 racing a Carrera GT....
