Tesla *will* get to higher quality levels, as sure as the river flows into the sea.
I wouldn’t tolerate this crap in a Hyundai.
The year-long backlog is based on pure hype, assuming you’re talking about the Model 3. The company has had 1 successful product so far - Model S. The Model X just came out and only a few have been sold.
I don’t know about Elon jumping on a conference call. Maybe he’s matured in the last couple years, but his reaction to the NY Times review a few years ago doesn’t inspire positive thoughts of his reaction to negative feedback. (It also was probably not the best PR move - I never would have read the NYT review if it…
That's cute.
Actually the newer Ferraris aren’t that bad in this regard. Lamborghini too, once they stopped welding the chassis in barns.
I’m considering my next car options (I’m a dieselgate A3 owner), and one of my considerations was to go way down in (perceived?) quality and cost for something super economical like a FiST. My concern with an entry-level domestic is that it may have one or possibly two quality issues. More than that would be…
Shit like that is what keeps me from taking Tesla into serious buying consideration. Absolutely not acceptable for a $100k+ car.

“My 13-year-old niece was disturbed by the notion of sitting between two other people in my truck,”
Imagine sitting in the open end of a big bucket, it’s kind of weird but that’s how I always thought about it, the old aftermarket bucket seats had a lot of side bolstering around the hips as opposed to a completely flat bench. I have no idea who the term originated with but it became ubiquitous a long time ago.
Front bench seats dominated early car history due to being the cheaper and more suitable for additional passengers, and the column-mounted shifter made the arrangement comfortable for that poor sap in the middle.
‘Twas me. Facebook Live videos only ever shoot in 1:1 ratio no matter how you hold your phone. I don’t know why—that’s just how they work.
