Except it would make financial sense – without that long warranty, not enough people would buy them. Hyundai gets more money via having more units sold with huge warranties (but those are good only for the first owner, BTW) than less units sold with short warranties.

Some of them were! Remember the Ford Festiva? It was actually a Kia.

Which means you’ve met car salesmen who make up to and including 250k a year?? To me, 250k/yr sounds like a damn good path to take if you love money...

I see an Alpina B7! :(

Ironically, I have a Hertz Jetta right now which was due for an oil change 4000km ago...

I gotta know – the Pathfinder guy, did he have to pay for any of the damage since it was blatantly clear he damaged it while off-roading (and he signed that he wouldn’t off-road it), or did the insurance he bought simply cover it all regardless?

Not in this case... These were idiots with low-slung performance cars.

Doesn’t look like it’s permanent. Looks like it flips back into the trunk when you don’t need it!

This reminds me of the demise of a really awesome car show in my city. Let’s hope H20i doesn’t have the same fate...

Looks cool to me. I just wonder why they went with a start button in place of the unique little switch new Volvos have now?

Nice! Didn’t even know Sixt operated in North America at all. Just checked their prices out, and they’re much, much better than the US brands... It’s a GLA at Sixt or an Accent at Hertz for the same price!

Who rents (rented?) you a diesel Audi in the US?

It all comes down to what one’s criteria are, I suppose.

Can’t disagree there! The whole “give me the most expensive model, I don’t care what it is” mentality is why M cars, AMGs, etc. suck nowadays (except on paper), for the most part.

Are you sure it’s just about the badge, though? I’m reminded of when Clarkson was talking about the DB9: many people say how their Mustang/etc. has the same performance numbers for drastically less money, but those cars will never be as refined or well-designed as the Aston. The Kia Credenza is no exception...

I feel like this article is actually about the hidden photoshop gems, rather than the poser-luxury appliance that’s in the headline...

EV prices sink like a stone because the battery needs replacement after 8-10 years! Not much of a value proposition.

The trouble with that idea (and I don’t think you’re wrong) is that ships, planes, trucks, trains, etc. are what most badly needs to be electrified! They contribute to pollution/global warming more than all the cars on Earth combined.

A Kia that doesn’t look like a copy of any other car!? Never thought I’d see the day! I’m impressed, honestly.
