“That dude” was me! Believe me, with the reputation these cars gained over the years, ours was no lemon.

Is having them buy it back the only option?

It’s not the Americans’ fault that VW cheated, but it is their fault that it’s not legal/viable to export these still-fairly-clean cars elsewhere.

Saturn SL? Reliable?? How about no...

That’s one beautiful-looking interior!

The Ford Ranger has evolved in its North American absence (i.e. in places where there was no pause in production) just like the Tacoma and Colorado have evolved during the same time. If today’s Tacoma can still be called a Tacoma even though it’s bigger than the original, the Ranger gets that right, too.

It’s about the headlight shape. I can see it now, but I wouldn’t have noticed had nobody said anything.

A big part of it is production! For example, BMW USA only offers certain powertrain combos and option packages, whereas in Europe, you can get everything a-la-carte. Cloth-seated, no sunroof, manual 340i Touring w/ top-spec nav and 360º cameras? Right this way, monsieur...

The presence of a passenger’s side mirror means it’s indeed an SL1...exactly like the one we had.

Funny how real estate being cripplingly overpriced makes one forget about other facts of life...

I guarantee there’s no fraud here. It’s par for the course when you look at rich-overnight Chinese nationals parking their money in Vancouver real estate. Very rich, very selfish, very greedy, very overconfident, very cheap.

Why wouldn’t you insure it properly?!?

It kept the QuishQuash name for the Canadian market, where it also gets a manual... Sorry.

Yep, that’s mostly SF. Enjoyed driving around the peninsula itself, plus going down to Monterey and back, and taking the PCH on a separate occasion.

Of course they should’ve had the foresight, but Vancouver’s a special snowflake of a city...

Probably! I remember back when M-plates were being issued (i.e. ### Mxx), some places still had combos like TWW.

A physical lock/unlock button would be good, too.

Does this only apply to cars on the lot? (i.e. are you boned if you want to do a factory order?)

I would love that! BC doesn’t even make you take driving school, much less have such a licensing scheme...
