Well, it's worked fine since new, and when my dad decided to take it out for a little hooning with me in the passenger seat about a month ago it didn't break (damn fun to oversteer through a corner in it).

I have no idea about which exact cars came with Torsen LSDs before the 3rd gen, but I do know that all 1990 MX-5s sold in Sweden had power steering and Torsen LSDs, because my dad (who worked at Mazda Sweden then) and a colleague (who is still a close family friend, he collects and restores pre-war MGs and Bentleys)…
At 130 horses, it's not really a hoonmobile if you ask me, especially since it seems most (if not all) of the 1.8s sold here in Sweden came with an open differential, which limits the hoon potential. I've already driven my mother's '91 1.6 (which has a Torsen LSD, so it can be hooned) extensively, so I know how the…
There's one for 35k and one for 36k up for sale right now. I've already established mail contact with the seller of the one that's listed for 35k and am hopefully going to go check it out next week. The 36k car has been up for a month now and I had some mail contact with that seller when it was first put up. He mailed…
I was hoping to get a S13 or S14 Nissan 200SX (CA18DET/SR20DET goodness, aww yiss) for that very reason, but my dad thinks I should get a Miata. My parents already have a '91 Limited Edition in British Racing Green which my dad bought new for my mom while he still worked at Mazda. It's one of only two Limited Editions…
Nah, not yet. Ask me again in a few years.
Which look terrible, unfortunately. The current Camaro looks like a bloated toy caricature, and a bodykit does little to help that.
Oooh, that's some nice information. My dad already told me about the timing belt thing (my parents have had a '91 MX-5 British Racing Green Limited since it was new, I grew up in the passenger seat of that car), but the rest is new to me! By the way, when you say "early first generation Miatas", do you refer to…
Don't feed him.
You should visit Jalopnik, you'll be welcomed with open arms (the Miata is one of our patron saints).
You mean Katie Featherston? Pretty sure you've got that wrong.
There are some nice pictures in a photo album somewhere from when my dad visited the assembly line in the UK. He worked at Jag at the time and was there to see to ship one to Sweden. There's a picture from the factory showroom with the car that ended up in Sweden (IIRC it was sold to someone abroad later) with Elton…

Well it might work on other websites, but not on Jalopnik (and other Gawker sites)
I'm afraid linking specific times in Youtube videos doesn't work if you embed them.
Watch out, this might actually show up on their site now.
Unfortunately it was slow as hell (the top speed was rarely used due to the risk of engine breakdowns), had ridiculously bad mileage and was unforgivably unreliable. Gearheads who complain about the Lucas electronics in their old Land Rovers have never had to deal with a (King) Tiger tank.
This can't be pointed out enough times.
