Been using Car Play since late ‘18 in my Colorado... definitely like it better than the on-board system but have had increasing interface issues as Car Play improves but the interface never gets updated by GM.

I wouldn’t call CarPlay useless, its a pretty basic re-interpretation of the current iOS interface. Having it read and dictate text messages is great, phone works fine, music/nav are all there. Could they make it better looking and add functionality? Absolutely. but it is useless? no way

Having used both with my GTI (I am Android, but most of my friends and my Mom are Fruitloops), Carplay was WAAAAAAY buggier in terms of not connecting, randomely disconnecting, and generally being a PITA.
