If you don’t leave anything valuable in the car, it is cheaper to leave it unlocked and let someone rummage through it then it is when they break the windows to get in.  I do not leave my car unlocked, but I understand the reasoning as long as you don’t leave valuables.

Am I in the minority with hating every Uconnect system I have used?  Mainly because the bluetooth is so bad?  Every one I have used the bluetooth has a 3-5 seconds lag and it’s incredibly annoying.

You don’t need to to be self-powered. You just need it to hold extra battery capacity for your vehicle. Yes, this would reduce the weight that the trailer can tow, but for most people it would still be able to tow what they need I would think.
