And I think I found a new love...

Amen.

One of the best pilots ever. Ruthless, dirty, calculating... and also spectacular, daring and determined.

I don't see nearly enough of them.

They wouldn't like them. Small FWD cars with average-to-poor reliability, quirky design and bog standard performances are a niche product at best in America.

And not just rally cars: road-going Peugeots are notorious for their clunky gearboxes. Which is curious because they own Citroën, which started as a gear manufacturer.

Weird. 505 interiors were very durable for the time, with the cheviot upholstery and hard plastics. Then again Spanish-market 505s had interiors made in Villaverde, Madrid, which may account for the difference in quality.

Don't buy an automatic, European mass-market cars tend to be designed around manual gearboxes since automatics are a minority option, mostly associated with the disabled. Besides gearboxes tend to be the weak point in Peugeots since the times of the 403 (Columbo's car).

In Spain people think German cars are the pinnacle of engineering... but buy cars from French companies. Then again, most of those cars are made in Spain so the price is reasonable and parts or servicing are easy to find.

"The thing about the French is that, since they're a country of Communists and peasants, they're very good at building fairly simple, small cars." James May.

Someone watched Pulp Fiction once too many.

I always preferred Dieselpunk... which by the way suits this car much better.

My eyes! My precious eyes!

It's also completely impossible. There's no way to guarantee a public ownership of the means of production if it's not legally enforced, i.e. forcibly imposed.

Because contrary to common wisdom, Americans are not that stupid.

True, but Pompidou was not such an a$$. And Giscard did use that car too, I just couldn't find pictures of him in it.

Boulogne-Billancourt was also cool, in a Socialist cheese-eating surrender monkey fashion.

And Ducati makes its bikes very close too!

French-made? Check.

Make it stiff enough to mount a Dushka or a recoilless rifle and it will outsell the VW Bug.
