It seems extreme that simply recalling the first name — while otherwise using the feminine pronoun throughout, and never calling today’s Caitlyn Bruce instead — would be “transphobic.” It’s getting to egg-shelly around here.

People are calling him transphobic because he made a joke about Caitlyn Jenner and referenced her, pre-transition, as Bruce Jenner.

See I am the opposite, I DON’T like Ricky Gervais, I think a lot of his humor is just him trying to make other people feel bad and what he finds funniest is that they DO.

I like Ricky Gervais and his humor. And honestly, all the hate and outrage he gets here on this site just makes me shake my head.

I think that is why I love him so, so much. I’m an American that doesn’t care much for American comedy, lol. Blame my dad for raising me on Monty Python I guess.

Wasn’t it obvious that Ricky thinks Mel is a complete ass and he delighted in being able to express that to his face. Especially with the Shalom tag at the end of the show.

Not really getting where the hate for Gervais is coming from. To me he remains a great example of the comedian who always punches up and never punches down.

Did Gervais go on a racist tirade I’m not aware of? That’s a lot of venom towards him to just not find him funny.
