Since Martha was able to make something served at a goddamned Michelin-starred restaurant look like dog food, that should be an eye-opener for us mere mortals. Imagine how bad the curry you made for dinner or the Eggs Benedict you had at brunch REALLY looks.

This incident and an article in The Week saying that Katy Perry needs to be called out for this has been circulating around my group of friends on Facebook. The common thread I see is that "it's not racist" — this has been determined by white and Hispanic men, which is the racial majority in the city I live in — all

Thank you for sharing this, it really adds a new angle to the argument (and my opinion of her).

I have ruined every pair of black underwear by "bleaching" it, and always wondered what the hell was wrong with me. I guess my vagina is just like my sense of humor and how I feel in the morning before I have coffee — caustic and highly acidic.

Yes, you do have a point. Asking someone where they are from is not always meant to be offensive. I'd found in my travels, also, that people will ask where you are from first — wanting to know more about your family, etc., in a polite way — whereas Americans usually ask a person what they do for a living.

Here's a roundup of some of the Greatest Hits of my life, of the creepiest and most ignorant things I've ever heard, from Creepy White Men:

Women and men of Middle Eastern descent have a completely different set of unfair stereotypes to overcome here in the U.S.

I'm giving you a standing ovation right now. THANK YOU.

I said that these unfair and hurtful beliefs and stereotypes about what Asian American women want are perpetuated by ignorant, white men. That is not an unfeminist statement, nor does it allude that we don't have control over our lives. Their ignorant beliefs explains the shitty, gross behavior they have — their sense

Thank you for putting me in check, you're right. I admit I have seen hipsters and progressives of all backgrounds make these same assumptions. White men are the not the only guilty ones, and subscribing to stereotypes transcends socio-economic classes.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. My boyfriend's mother went through this. In the 1970s. She is white and his Dad is Asian.

I am noticing all of these posts about Asian women having a white-man fetish and not taking "responsibility" for it.

Another hilarious grading system — just wish I wasn't reading this while having lunch at my desk this time :-)

A T.G.I. Friday's bathroom?!?! Haha!

So what is the lesson? Just don't hook up with a younger guy (so any Millennials, for us) because they must all be chlamydia-ridden?

This is incredibly disturbing.

I'm horrified at the way that female bosses and business owners are talking to and treating their employees in these stories. We have enough BS to deal with in the work place, why abuse each other? It just adds to the stereotype that we can't be effective bosses because we're "too emotional."

Having been a waitress myself, I am convinced that nearly everyone who works in a restaurant has a criminal record.
