Yeah, there’s quite a bit to do after the object is printed if you want it to look right. It’ll usually be covered in stringy bits. Extra dobs of plastic. Plus there’s usually a very distinct pattern in it that needs either sanded out or sealed over. Plus the painting. Rigging if there are electrical components.

I don’t think it’s QUITE as bad as the knee-jerk reactions would lead on. It’s mostly the face. If you replace that cheap “card game or toy based anime #5687" face with literally anything else, then the rest of the form is tolerable.
