Yea, watch the video. It is the same sensor. It's just that in the iPhone 4 the sensor is only on when a phone call is in progress (it's the proximity sensor). In the iPhone 4S the sensor is on when the screen is on so that Siri knows when the phone is in your ear. Might be one reason for the battery drain.
