I believe most can-am cars utilized alloy monocoques and big block V8s which could be a stressed member (phrasing) of the chassis.

Is Vadim Kogay somehow involved?
Yeah this kind of thinking is why Indycar is where they are. Maybe, just maybe, your "traditions" are why the series is stagnant.
THAT'S JUST HOW HE DRIVES! FLAT OUT!
It's not about the Coyote motor itself. It's an issue with the stock exhaust system on the S550 not the S197.
MT gained over 3 seconds going from stock Pirellis on a v6 Mustang to Pilot Super sports (also with Pobst at Willow). The Michelins are a 300 treadwear tire while the Goodyears on the Camaro are 220. If the Mustang had equal rubber, it would be much closer if not beat the Camaro outright.
True. I'm sure most people don't even realize how soft the stock suspension is because they don't push the car so it's nice and comfortable for them.
It comes down to dollars and cents I'm sure. Invest the r&d dollars into the things that provide a strong foundation (chassis, drivetrain, suspension) and compromise on the rest. Let the owners who want more performance invest in exhaust, wheels/tires, springs/dampers and a tune.
The problem is Ford handicaps the Mustang from the factory. Supposedly you can free up nearly 30hp/tq from just a cat-back exhaust (Gibson). That and I'll never understand why they put staggered wheel/tires on their performance trims when all-square allows the car to rotate much easier.
I liked the short course layout at COTA and thought it was approriate to keep the pack fairly close together. The issue is COTA is wide track so you don't have the door-to-door stuff like the Aussie tracks.
sweet! cheap miata heads for sale!
"And it's all thanks to the greatest line in football."
Yeah I figured something was up when they delayed sending their cars out for FP1.
Maybe he'll do Dancing With the Stars.
Mexico? ;)
Except COTA is hosting a race and that's a car show.
I'm having a hard time recruiting friends to come along. I'm not sure how much longer I'll consider them friends.
I love this so much. I asked a friend to make an Obama version for me.
Almost a relief to hear some good news this week.
