No as a Senator Biden was clearly to Obama’s right, as a presidential candidate in 2020 he's clearly to his left as the party has shifted left since 2008 (thanks in large part to the victories of the Obama Administration).

Please justify this statement with anything approaching a systematic analysis as it's moronic Greenwald/Stein/Jacobin bullshit

This is a dumb decision, but it doesn’t make your original statement any less stupid— please point to the pro-Union, pro-choice, pro-ACA Repuicans calling for an expansion of the public option-- all of which are major elements of Biden’s platform regardless of who speaks at the DNC.

Outdoor Events with masked participants haven’t really been shown to be a major transmission vector thus far...is the risk zero- no but is the risk relatively low especially if the protests aren’t static (admittedly not the case here)— yes.

2014, Democratic Senate would have confirmed rather easily

This. If it was say an IQ test that’s one thing but this is like passing an 8th grade Literacy exam as an adult-- they're only surprised because your behavior indicates you'd fail

Right?! Especially not on a basic assessment— if someone says their amazed you passed the GED-- the implication is that they didn't think you'd do it not that passing the test is inherently impressive

Wait.... “ignoring it’s imperialist origins”.... How the fuck do the company’s immigrant founders bear any ties whatsoever to what Spanish government did, likely before they were born— edited as I was potentially diminishing the impact of late 19th century Spanish colonial governance in Puerto Rico-- though again it

Whoa there, I have a pretty low opinion of Trump’s intelligence (not his animal cunning) but Devos....Devos is a not particularily bright Golden Retreiver.

And yet...Joe Manchin saved the ACA. Flip him with a Caputo clone and healthcare coverage disappears for tens of millions of Americans.

The funny thing is we laugh our asses off when Republicans go with the hardcore base pol in a winnable seat (see: “not a witch” in the Mid-Atlantic or Sharon Angle in Nevada) but when we do the same it’s somehow “exciting” as opposed to “hilariously stupid

You do realize that unless you think Biden is winning Kentucky, a Democrat has to win at least 10% of those who vote for Trump to win the Senate seat right?

Well one you’re neglecting at least two if not three moderate swing state Dems who won (Tester and Sinema with Rosen as the potential third) as well as the counter examples of more progressive Dems who fell short in high profile statewide albeit Gubernatorial races (Gillum and Abrams) but beyond that you still haven’t

Do you have any proof at all for this theory, because I can point to basically every Democratic pick-up in 2018 as proof for the “run a moderate to take a moderate district” theorem.

Please point to all the Progressives who won Republican held seats in the last say half a decade (there’s 0 in 2018 so I’m expanding the time span)

Booker was unquestionably more progressive, that doesn’t mean he was a better choice for Kentucky.

If I was a bigger asshole I'd point out that Dan Patrick has a perverse incentive what with Abbott being in a vulnerable population

To be fair...it’s an affiliate structure and affiliates vary widely.

The cracks are already spreading among the most endangered GOP Senators-- see Susan Collins suddenly voting against Trump nominees like a student who hasn't been to class since Spring Break cramming for a final

So, so many things on this “statue law” bullshit.
