“Well sure we think he raped her but we know he won MSU it's first title in 20 years so we had to g9 with the one we were sure of......"

Well the WYTS fan submissions for the Colts need to re-open

This. Jeff Sessions was the kind of racist who had no problem putting Klansmen on Death Row and denouncing their crimes— because they were gauche— to use an analogy ol’ Beauregard would appreciate- Sessions was CCC to Steve King/Trump/Miller’s KKK

Jeff Sessions was an inveterate racist and a gutless coward who absorbed abuse from a bully, he also apparently had some soupcon of dignity or a vestigal respect for the rule of law— both of which were fatal flaws for a Trump lackey and why Il Douche bitched at him until he finally quit/was forced to resign.

Honestly, I’m more worried about the potential re-emergence of another Missourian, Eric Greitens- he’s like a synthesis of Cotton (vet- actually a Navy SEAL) and Hawley (relatively young, photogenic) with a pinch of Trump (rapey, a grifter).

You can be smart and evil- see: Cruz, Nixon, Scalia but yeah I think Tom might just test well and be a diligent but not exceptional student.

the establishment and large chunks of the Democratic base apparently- it’s kind of amazing how resilient his polling is-- he goes down a bit after each debate then bounces back to the around 30% within a couple of weeks- meanwhile Warren is the only challenger that’s consistently gained and held ground since the

Well that and the belief (perhaps true-- it’s debatable and all comes down to how far we go) that it would kill Dems in largely rural states. See why Manchin, Tester and Sanders- 3 Senators with dramatically different positions on most issues-- have relatively similar voting records on Gun Control Issues.

Nuclear is a pretty interesting dividing line— it has a lot of adherents on climate change action side because it’s the one non-fossil fuel energy source that could potentially replace the existing dirty power load today (admittedly the cost would be enormous).

The only point that could be vaguely contentious is the Green New Deal-- and frankly that’s so amorphous that a candidate could simply agree with the parts or principles while rejecting the GND as currently written (see the vote count when it was up in the Senate).

#2 is especially infuriating in light of the original Ilhan Omar comment controversy.

He’s always had a weird blindspot with regards to what is now called the alt-right, thankfully his personal experiences in Brazil at the very least have made him open to calling out Bolsanaro et al.

This. Though the Brazil stuff kind of highlights his weird reluctance to call out Trump for many of the same things he rightly hits Bolsanaro et al on.

Seriously, Greenwald was Nathan Hale’s lawyer by choice— I get that he makes a “free speech” argument to defend this but damn.*

I thought about adding Singapore too, but I worried it’d open discussion up to “why Singapore and not Malaysia, the Philippines, etc" (and my best counter is per capita income and/or living standards but then should we include some of the Middle Eastern nations with high standards of living for citizens but low

While I agree with you, there’s at least one other non US exception to the "developed world's" prohibition on the death penalty- Japan

I hear you, I mean listen to some people talk about the 2016 Primaries and you’d never know that Sanders lost by millions of votes, folks just love to blame the media, the DNC, the Clintons, etc instead of pointing to Bernie’s fatally flawed campaign.

Because she was lying in 2016, she’s literally a Bernie bro trope “sure I’d vote for a woman just not that woman [insert female candidste of your choice]”

Is Sarandon an Investor in Splinter or something? Seriously, you can rant about how folks are obsessed with her but this is the second Sarandon article in like 30 hours for no apparent reason.
