One of the only games I can remember having to stop playing because it was dark in my apartment and I was alone and really didn't feel like getting any more intense with a game at the moment.

Since you're not enjoying getting your words taken out of context, then you should note that he did not blame rioting on video games, as you stated, but he only mentioned violence in video games as part of the equation. Which, is an easy enough statement to understand someone making if that's their opinion.
