I actually saw the original version of that movie the other day. As much As I liked Vincent Price I thought it was pretty lame. The remake with Charlton Heston was much better but still not as good as the one with Will Smith.

Actually, it's the cat that I try to tease with the laser, the dog just refuses to allow anyone to do anything without her participation. It's hard not to defend a pit bull with all the bad press they get. I agree with you though, it's usually the owners and not the dog.
