Star Wars has a problem where a lot of what would be their popular armies & characters don’t coexist in the same time period. And you need to cross time periods if you want to have more than 2 or 3 interesting armies that people are familiar with.

She’s got incredible charisma but I wonder if she might end up overexposed. She stays out of the headlines though, so that helps. I feel like she’s building towards a critical mass where she ends up like Sandra Bulluck where she can take time off and only has to make a movie every few years to keep the heat up.

I used to think the same until I discovered some friends were “Broadway People” and actually did get excited about revivals of old shows. Plus they want everything done exactly the way it was back then, no reinventing or anything, everything new sucks and is cringe. It’s their Star Wars.

I would be pretty surprised if Portman were on board for being Thor for a whole Avengers cycle. Having to be that jacked all the time for years is a big ask. She’s also already an A-lister so it’s not like she needs the career boost.

It sounds like the director was trying to use the mild put-down of “this kid has too many Oscar nominations, probably because he’s a good looking white male” as a means to build the actress up, and he assumed Cooper would be cool with it an agree with him. But good for Cooper for shutting that down and having a spine.

I expect at least one will be an Aang story taking place after the finale, and wouldn’t be surprised if the others were starring past Avatars we’ve seen in the series before.

Hollywood exec: Can we rename it “The Handsome Man”?

Disney is the perfect match. EA has mismanaged the Star Wars IP for them for years, it only makes sense to allow EA to fail upwards and reward them with billions of dollars for the failure + the opportunity to mismanage Marvel as well.

It’s felt like the show was bending over backwards to keep McKinnon, letting her skip half the season and continue to do her unfunny RBG or Fauci impressions long past their relevancy.

I think the Monsterverse (that’s what they call it?) movies have a smaller but very vocal and dedicated fanbase. They’re never going to do Marvel / Star Wars numbers, and whatever novelty bump they had by being modern reboots is gone now, but they can still be fun movies worth going to the theater for. 

There’s a type of person that thinks $11/month for Netflix is a rip off but will gladly pay $5/week to rent several movies from their local Red Box and think they are getting out ahead.

I’ve seen it said that even when Games Workshop try to do a big media release featuring non-Marine or non-Imperium protagonists, it doesn’t sell nearly as well and people still complain that it wasn’t their favorite race or that it ‘wasn’t done right’. It’s a lose / lose.
