I used the Google Adwords trick. Easily filled up my invite queue. The rest I got through various events, promotions and other stuff.

VOTE: Dropbox

The main issue is that the cron you need to set up is very particular and works when it wants to. I had to go through 5 different versions before I got one that worked....for about a week then broke.

Despite all these alternatives, there's still nothing that is Google Reader. No one has hit the nail exactly on the head. Some come close but not quite. Feedly still has too much extra "fluff". Tiny Tiny RSS is nice but it a pain to install and maintain (and doesn't update automatically without a lot of trouble

I have 2 batteries for my Droid X (so desperately want to buy a new one). I make a habit of cycling them every 2 or 3 months. It seems to keep them fresh giving them a "break".

It can help, especially with how difficult it is for our generation (20-30) to get anywhere these days. I started one a few months ago, just doing tech articles, writing some scripts and doing a few reviews. One articles became the top resource on the web for a particular server model.

Just to let you know, however smooth it was, referral linking is not allowed.

In my experience Box.net has been horribly slow. The same sync that takes Dropbox/Drive 5-10 mins takes Box.net 6 hours. Add that to their lack of support for server OS's (Windows Server 2008) for me and it just falls by the wayside. Would definately use them if they shaped up though.

Google Drive is getting there but there's still no "must have" feature that has me wanting to dump either of my Dropbox accounts.

First Google Reader, now Astrid. What next?

My home screen is mostly my calendar. I'd never keep track of everything if I didn't have it. It's actually pretty empty right now.

30/5 TWC Extreme. It went back to up $68 so I'm going have to cancel and try to renew.

Project for this weekend: Make a new ubuntu VM on my ESXi server, tackle this.

Still holding out for a reversal from Google but it's good to know some are at least trying.

A 2.1ch soundbar for my old Dell 2405FPW and some cheap but still very nice Phillips SHS5200's. Have some Sennheiser MM100's but I rarely take the time to connect them.

I generally view the phone OS's as:

I wish I had done this for my previous jobs. It's definitely something I'll be considering whenever my next jobs comes by. A job just for the sake of income is like voluntary imprisonment. You don't have to love it but it's not worth the time if you can't at least enjoy it. Chances are you won't advance (or try hard

Mostly online and CBS Evening News/Local News when I get the chance.

That's what I do. It gets annoying though. I've been looking for a replacement server so I can continue working towards my VCP5 for 7 months because I keep getting stuck on reasons to wait. It'll pay off in the end but it's a pain to fight your impulse.
