The problem with simply recording (unless of course that recording is saved off-device) is that officers can just yank a phone away and delete the recording while the phone is still active.

10-15 years ago a Jaguar aficionado did their own rendering of his/her concept of what a Jaguar sedan should look like, and my gosh it was gorgeous. If I recall correctly it was purple, and the design did an amazing job of integrating classic Jaguar design-cues. I wish I could find it.
